About Tour Rate
Cambodian cuisine is closely related to that of neighboring Thailand and Laos and, to a lesser extent, Vietnam, but there are some distinct local dishes in Cambodia that one must try in order to experience a uniquely Cambodian culinary fare. The overall consensus is that Khmer cooking is like Thai, but without the spices. Curries, stir tried vegetable, rice, noodles and soups are staples of the Khmer diet.
Street food is very popular affair in Siem Reap, particularly among the city’s youth. Fried meatballs, Khmer desserts, grilled chicken and other street foods can be found nearly everywhere in the ciity, especially near high schools, outside and inside market, on the sidewalks, from mobile vendor carts. But as tempting as all of these might appear, one must try it to experience it.
Cambodian food, the most overlooked of all Asian cuisines, is largely unknown elsewhere in the world. Yet Cambodia's savory noodle dishes, fresh seafood, and tempting sweets, its street food and classic Khmer recipes, reflect the rich history and culture of this beautiful country. Let an experienced chef who’s cooked at one of Cambodia’s finest restaurants and a writer deeply immersed in local foodways help you explore the delicious nuances of Khmer cuisine. Come on a culinary adventure with Siem Reap Food Tours!
